Although the days are still warm, cool fall nights are coming. We can’t wait for cozy nights under a blanket on the couch or roasting marshmallows out on the patio. Take the time now to prep your home for fall with these tips.

● Change up your linens.

Adding in more woven materials, muted plaids, and cozy neutrals around your home is a great way to bring in the new season. You can add new pillow covers to your existing throw pillows, add a cozy knitted throw blanket to your bed or couch, or change out your sheets for a warmer color.

Update wreaths and entryways.

Your entryways are a key part of your home, so sprucing them up a little for fall can make a big difference. Take time to sweep around your main entryways, touch up any paint, and clean entryway rugs. Then you can add in simple touches like a fall wreath, a few pumpkins, some potted mums, or even a new rug.

Warm up your color palette.

When we think of fall colors, we usually think of warmer colors like tans, oranges, muted greens, and golden yellows. While we aren’t suggesting you change out all of your decor, you can add in some warmer fall colors with something as simple as a new coffee table book display, a different pillow cover or blanket, a woven tray or basket, or some fall foliage.

Bring in seasonal foliage and fruits.

Nothing quite says fall like pumpkins and fall leaves, so what better way to bring some fall into your home? Whether it’s a few pumpkins by your entryway or on your mantle, a floral arrangement with yellow and orange flowers, or a wreath with fall leaves, use natural elements to make your home feel a little cozier and a little more like fall.

Freshen the air.

Another great way to make your home feel more like fall is by bringing in fresh scents through a diffuser or new candles. Nothing quite says fall like the smell of cinnamon, apples, or pumpkin spice, so adding those scents into your home is a great way to bring your home into the fall season.

Get your patio ready.

With fall comes cooler nights and after months of sweltering heat, we can’t wait! These cool nights are perfect for spending time out on your patio by the firepit hanging out with friends, grilling, and roasting s’mores. Take the time now to clean any patio furniture, wash cushions or throw pillows, and make sure your grill and firepit are clean and ready for those nights on the patio. If any of your furniture, grill, or firepit is on its last leg, now is a great time to go ahead and upgrade. It’s also a great idea to add in some of those cozy linens, fall tones, and fall fruits or greenery on your patio too.
